Our Chapter has grown a lot! We need your help to fill new positions, open positions and just some recurring tasks.

Current Staff/Support Needs:
- PHOTOGRAPHER: Take photographs of Chapter meetings and for events the photographer attends.
Post photographs to the Chapter Google Drive. Need not be an expert photographer. Camera
will be provided if required. If interested in this position please contact Vice President Barry

- WEBMASTER: manage the chapter website. This will include keeping the website up-to-date with
chapter events and changes in leadership and calendar of events. For specific requirements
contact the present webmaster, George Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org
- POSTER and BROCHURE CONTESTS: The Poster contest is for Elementary grades 4-6, the Brochure contest
for grades 7-9. The person leading these programs works with teachers in schools participating in
the contests, receives the posters and brochures, coordinates judging with other chapter members,
selects 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, coordinates and presents awards to the winners and forwards
the 1st place poster and brochure to the Chapter awards Chairman for further forwarding to VASSAR.
Specific rules are well documented. Schools for both the Brochure and Poster contests are identified
and planning to submit products by March 2018. Contact Vice President Barry Schwoerer at

- POSTER and BROCHURE JUDGES: Three members are needed to judge posters and brochures starting about
mid-February 2018. Judging can normally be conducted at home using photographs of brochures and posters.
Judging posters and brochures gives each judge a view of how young people see history and famous persons
from the Revolution. Contact Vice President Barry Schwoerer at firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer or
get additional details.
- ASSISTANT REGISTRAR: To distribute the potential workload, the chapter wants to have more than one member
assisting our Registrar. If you have an interest in Genealogy, enjoy research and are delighted when you
solve lineage links, you are the kind of person we need helping members submit supplem:ental applications.
The workload is flexible and the amount of time spent dependent entirely on time available.
The Assistant Registrars help existing members with supplementals and is not responsible for new member applications.

- VIRGINIA HISTORY DAY JUDGES: Keith Rouleau of our chapter is the Virginia District V coordinator for SAR
participation in Virginia History Day. This is a ONE DAY effort. Judges are exposed to some of the best and
brightest students in middle and High School in a variety of projects ranging from website development, production
of short documentaries, performances, essays, and displays. Participation will renew your faith in the future
of our children. Judging will be on Saturday, 03 March 2018 from 8:00am to 3:00pm at Mt Vernon High School,
8515 Old Mt Vernon Road, Alexandria, VA. Volunteers must register. To volunteer contact: Keith Rouleau
- SPEECH (ORATION) CONTEST COORDINATOR: The chapter has a working relationship with a parochial High school.
The coordinator coordinates with the school to identify students participating in the contest, coordinates 2-3
other chapter members for judging speechs, selects a winner and coordinates presentation of the chapter award.
The Chapter winner is submitted to VASSAR. The 2018 chapter contest is complete. To volunteer contact:
